2015 / 2016 Female Athlete of the Year

3.80 cumulative GPA.  2 sport 4 year letter winner.  3 time CHSAA Academic All-State winner.   CHSAA state qualifier.  WSL All-honorable mention. School record holder in the 4X800 relay.  2 sport team captain.  

Alex is a phenomenal athlete on the track as well as an amazing leader within the Steamboat running programs and community.  Her positive outlook and contagious desire to improve and help others achieve their goals is inspiring to see and sets an amazing example for her teammates.  She inspired not only her teammates but the coaching staff as well.

2015 / 2016 Male Athlete of the Year

3.80 GPA.  4 year letterman. 4 year 2 sport athlete.  2 time state qualifier.  2 time CHSAA Academic All-State.  WSL All Conference, WSL All conference honorable mention. WSL Special teams player of the year in football.  Team Captain.  2016 invitee to Colorado All-State football game.    Several other awards and leadership roles in Lacrosse.

Joe is an amazingly dependable football player, and his talents rarely allowed him off of the field for any reason.  Joe has contributed to all phases of the game of football and helped the team tremendously all four years.  He also played through injury and pain, a true iron man.  He hopes to play football at Colorado State University in the fall of 2016.

2015/2016 Three-Sport Athletes

 The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) recognizes the benefits of participation and pays special recognition to those student athletes who perform in 3 sports during the course of the school year.  Three sport student athletes are the backbone of athletics at SSHS and through their varied participation we are able to field 22 varsity teams.   The same skills that enable these athletes to be successful on the field of play are the same skills that will serve them well in the classroom, job field, and throughout their adult life.  Congratulations to the 28 Steamboat Springs High School student athletes who participated in 3 or more sports this year:
